Matt is Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Board of Directors. He brings 20 years of experience as a leader in both publicly- and privately-traded healthcare companies and as a specialist in mergers and acquisitions and integrations.
Matt is a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee of NuSil Technology.
Matt was previously head of Global Medical Operations for Ikaria, Inc. and also served as Chief Financial Officer and in multiple other executive roles. At Ikaria, he transformed a business that was expected to face generic competition into a durable customer service-focused franchise with growing revenues, resulting in a four-fold increase in enterprise value. He shaped the clinical development strategy and scientific go to market approach for an innovative product offering.
Prior to joining Ikaria, Matt was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at VIASYS Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: VAS), a public healthcare technology company with four business units focused in respiratory care, neurology, medical disposables and surgical products, and orthopedics. At VIASYS, he was responsible for the company’s global expansion strategy and acquired 11 companies to grow the company’s revenues by 4 times and enterprise value by more than 3 times. Before VIASYS, Matt was focused in mergers and acquisitions, integrations, and commercial transactions in the health care space at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. He holds an AB in Political Science from Princeton University and a JD from Villanova University School of Law.
George Abatjoglou is the President, Provider Solutions. He joined IOD as COO in 2010 and became CEO in 2013. Prior to IOD, George was CEO of eWebHealth, a SaaS provider of EHR workflow solutions. He also served as CFO and was EVP of product operations for ChartOne, a provider of ROI and related medical record services. George has held financial leadership positions at Xchange, McKesson and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He is a CPA and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Miami University (Ohio).
Brian M. Grazzini is Chief Financial Officer. He manages the legal, budgeting, and financial reporting functions in addition to the direction of the treasury and accounts receivable departments. Before joining HealthPort, Mr. Grazzini served as chief financial officer for Genoa Healthcare and executive vice president and chief financial officer for Centennial Healthcare Corporation, both providers of long-term healthcare services.
In addition, Mr. Grazzini has held executive and senior management positions at various other healthcare companies, including Mariner Healthcare, Inc. where he served as vice president of finance for several different operational divisions, including rehabilitative services, institutional pharmacy, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, physician management practice, nursing home and assisted living facilities. Mr. Grazzini holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Kennesaw State University.
Brian Simons is the Chief Operations Officer, Provider Solutions and responsible for day-to-day leadership of our release of information and imaging operations. Brian brings deep operations management experience including time with Honeywell, NCR, and Goodrich (now United Technologies), where he gained deep technical competencies as well as learned and fine-tuned the lean and continuous improvement skills that are core to his leadership style. Brian also brings a passion for culture and delighting customers. Most recently Brian served as the senior vice president of operations for Universal Hospital Services, a leading provider of healthcare technology management and service solutions. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in International Finance and his Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management, both from Arizona state University.
Vishal Agrawal, M.D., is Chief Growth Officer and President, Payor Solutions. He previously served as President of Harris Corporation's Healthcare Solutions business unit, a nationally recognized leader in clinical integration solutions. The business offered a full range of interoperability solutions to leading providers and health systems globally, including real-time health information exchange, vendor-neutral middleware, and enterprise business intelligence. Dr. Agrawal joined Harris in 2013. Prior to his role with Harris, he was a partner and leader in McKinsey's Healthcare Systems and Services practice. While at McKinsey he significantly expanded the Firm's impact with health insurance companies, including successfully developing strategies to drive payor operations improvement and payor-provider collaboration.
Prior to his business career he served as a research fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. Additionally, he received a BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and a master’s degree in Molecular Biophysics from Yale University, as well as a medical doctorate degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He is widely published and an active speaker on various healthcare, informatics, health insurance, and healthcare delivery system issues.
James Briggs joined HealthPort | IOD in December of 2015 to serve as our Chief Human Resource Officer responsible for ongoing human resource and personnel initiatives. Prior to joining HealthPort | IOD, he served as the Chief Administrative and Operations Officer of Ikaria, a mid-sized biotech firm, until May of 2015. James joined Ikaria in August of 2008, then as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. At the time of his departure from Ikaria, he had the privilege to work with and be responsible for Ikaria’s overall Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Services and Manufacturing capabilities globally. Prior to Ikaria, he served as the Director, Human Resources with Avaya, a global IP telephony products and services company, from March 2007. While there, he served as the leader of the human resources team dedicated to the Global Services business platform, responsible for leading and implementing the human resources strategies for the entire global services business. From 2004-2007, James served as Vice President, Human Resources at General Electric’s Access Distribution Unit, a global IT distributor. In addition to his other leadership roles, earlier in his career he held positions at Unilever and the Pepsi Bottling Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in human resources and industrial relations, both from the University of Illinois.
